Virtual Drama Club
Just because we can’t BE together, doesn’t mean we can’t PLAY together! This winter Cardinal Stage is offering two virtual drama clubs for young actors in elementary and high school. Each program will meet online and is led by experienced, local performers/teaching artists. Clubs are limited to 12 students per session.
REGISTRATION NOW CLOSED. Check back soon for future opportunities.
Youth Virtual Drama Club: Registration now closed
Dates: February 2- April 13, 2021 (10 Weeks of meetings)
Time: Tuesdays 4pm – 5pm
Recommended ages: 8-12
Instructor: Shannon Starks
Description: The session is tailored to young actors with limited performance experience and offers a chance to explore theatre safely from the comfort of your home! Zoom offers a unique ability for us to focus on our faces and voices, two of our acting tools, along with our imagination as we work on acting skills through drama games and activities.
Teen Virtual Drama Club: Registration now closed
Dates: January 19 – February 25, 2021 (6 Weeks of meetings + individual coaching, final showcase on Feb 25th)
Time: Tuesdays 4pm – 5pm
Recommended ages: 13-18
Instructor: Francesca Sobrer
Description: This six-week workshop will focus on monologue performance. Francesca Sobrer will take teen actors through the steps from finding a monologue that best demonstrates your talent to creating character and finding your focus, to performing your monologue as if presenting in an actual audition. Each participant will also have at least two private coaching sessions (20-minutes each) with the instructor outside of the regular meeting time. There will be a final presentation which will include a mock audition for invited guest artists.
